I’m here to solve my clients’ challenges and take the stress off their shoulders as we figure out how to move them and their family forward.
Deanna Rusch

Deanna Rusch’s practice includes all areas of family law, with an emphasis on complex divorce, inter-state, UCCJEA, and relocation issues. She is especially skilled in assisting clients with complex financial assets, such as businesses, during divorce. Deanna is a highly respected divorce and family law attorney serving clients at McKinley Irvin’s Portland location.

Deanna is known for her humor, intellect, and straightforward yet kind approach to solving her clients’ legal issues. She begins each case by learning about the goals of her clients and tailoring a strategy to fit their unique situations. She communicates clearly to her clients how the law fits with her clients’ desired outcome and creates a plan to protect their interests.

While the legal complexities of family law can be a challenge, Deanna tackles issues head-on and makes sure her clients feel the relief of having a dedicated attorney by their side. She believes when family dynamics change, it does not need to be a negative experience.

“It doesn’t have to be terrifying,” Deanna says. “Rather, it can be a new beginning. I’m here to solve my clients’ challenges and take the stress off their shoulders as we figure out how to move them and their family forward.”

Deanna takes pride in reassuring her clients and providing them with practical and straightforward advice. “It’s important to keep a sense of humor throughout. I tell each of my clients, ‘if I need you to worry about something I will tell you. Otherwise don’t worry about it.’”

Deanna’s drive in protecting her clients and pursuing superior results has earned her the respect and admiration of her peers. She has been named a “Washington Outstanding Young Lawyer” by Seattle Met magazine and has been ranked a Rising Star by Washington Super Lawyers every year since 2010.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Deanna grew up in the suburbs of both Portland and Seattle. She is an avid fan of the University of Washington Huskies and the Seattle Seahawks. Outside of the firm, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching scary movies, playing board games, and spending time with her two dogs, Rocky and Adrianne. She’s always on the hunt for a good brewery or winery.
